How to do a wheelie

In vehicle acrobatics, a wheelie is a vehicle maneuver in which the front wheel or wheels come off the ground due to extreme torque being applied to the rear wheel or wheels.

Wheelies are usually associated with bicycles and motorcycles, but can be done with other vehicles such as cars, especially in drag racing and tractor pulling.

HOW TO DO A WHEELIE ?

The way I will tell you how to do a wheelie and you being able to just go out and do it, and get it right after a while will all depend on how good you are at knowing and feeling what you can do with your bike.

If you ride an R1 CBR 900 – 1200 Bandit etc, These types of bikes are the easiest of all for wheelies because they will wheelie off the throttle in first gear without trying hard at all.

How to Do a Wheelie on a Mountain Bike ?

“Generally speaking, this is one of the most time-consuming and difficult moves out there,” says Hans.

“Some guys, even in the World Cup race, cannot ride a good wheelie But you’ll see kids riding them because they put the time into it.”

Adjust your seat to a low position You’ll ride the wheelie sitting down, and seat position will help keep your center of gravity and balance.

Put the bike into a medium or low gear and begin at rolling speed.

Crouch your upper body so your weight is over the handlebars.

Turn the cranks to the 11:00 position.

Pedal down and pull up on the handlebars simultaneously.

Immediately lean back as if you were in a rocking chair and continue pedaling. You need to trust your rear brake, otherwise you’ll flip over backward.

Outstretch your arms and sit on the tip of the seat.

Keep one finger on the rear brake while the others firmly hold the grip.

Feather the brake continually this helps to control speed and can prevent you from falling on your butt.

Relax The front tire should be pretty high in the air.

Begin controlling the two balances: vertical and sideways.

Adjust the vertical balance with the rear brake (if leaning too far back) or by pedaling (if your front wheel begins to drop).

Fight the sideways balance early; it’s impossible to recover if you wait too long.

Control the sideways balance by sticking out a knee or foot, or by turning the handlebars in the opposite direction (Just make sure the handlebars are straight before you come down).
Let the front wheel drop to come out of the move.

How to do a u turn

How to Make a U-Turn ?

Are you driving the wrong way? Did you take a wrong turn somewhere? You should be going the opposite direction, right? No worries, hang a U turn and correct the problem.

Switch on the turn signal that indicates the direction of your turn.

Check for oncoming traffic.

Make sure that a U-turn is not illegal in this location.

U-turns should not be made across a double yellow line or where signs indicate that they are against the law.

Be sure that you have enough room to make the turn without hitting the curb or any parked cars.

Press the gas lightly while turning the steering wheel as far as it will go in the direction you want to turn.

Lift your foot off the gas and coast through the turn Give gas as needed.

Enter your new lane and begin driving.

While it is possible to perform this with a SUV or pickup truck, do not attempt it with one. The danger of flipping the vehicle is much too high with a vehicle that has a high center of gravity.

Wear your safety belt, as even with a low slung passenger car, it is possible to flip the vehicle if you hit a large rock or other obstruction mid turn.

If you do not put the car in neutral soon enough, or put in the car in gear (drive) too soon, you have the possibility of messing up your transmission.

May cause severe injury or even death.

How to do a oil change

How to Change the Oil in Your Car ?

Gather all the necessary supplies and equipment Under your car with all the oil out is not the time to discover what is missing It will help to have everything close at hand (Caution: take great care when working with a hot engine).

Before draining out the old oil, you may want to open the hood of the car and open the oil filler cap on the top of the engine This will help the oil drain easier because air can flow in as the crankcase drains. Locate the drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan.

It is normally towards the back of the engine at the car to catch oil runoff. As the oil comes out of the pan at an angle, it can be tricky to catch, and may land on the ground.

If this includes your driveway, you will want some newspaper or a drop cloth to catch it, or you risk an oil stain on your driveway or garage.

Loosen the plug counter-clockwise using the proper sized socket (or wrench) The fit is especially important if the bolt is tight, which it shouldn’t be.

If you need more leverage, an extension such as a pipe segment on your ratchet handle can help If this type of “breaker-bar” arrangement is required it was way too tight You should also remove and replace the circular paper (or felt) drain plug gasket, but a metal washer can be re-used if in good condition Be careful not to drop the plug in the oil,it’s a messy job trying to find the plug in the black stuff.

If you do drop it in the pan, you can easily find it with a magnet. Ideally, use the type that is at the end of an expandable rod.

Another easy way to “save” the drain plug is to use a funnel with a bit of screening in it Catch the plug as it falls out You can then pull the funnel out of the way of the stream and set it to one side.

Some vehicles (such as BMW, Mercedes, newer Volvos, etc) may have a filter element or cartridge as opposed to the simpler spin-on type. They require you to open the cap of a built-in resevoir and lift out the filter element itself.

Carefully screw on the new, lubricated filter, being careful to not cross the threads With the paper cartridge filters, they will always come with at least one o-ring, sometimes as many as four different ones Make sure to replace all of them to ensure that they will not leak.

The filter will generally say how tight to tighten it Go until the gasket touches, then however far it says it should be This is usually 2/3 or 1/4 of a turn after the gasket touches but could be more. Read the specifications on the filter or box it came in. Using a cap wrench can make it easier to install per specs if the filter is in a difficult to reach location.

Replace the fill cap, check around for tools and close the hood.

Start the engine, watching to be sure the oil pressure light goes off after start-up,and be sure to look under the car while the engine is running (put car in park or neutral with the parking brake on) to check for any drips If the filter and drain plug aren’t tight, they may leak slowly Run the engine for a minute or so.

Now remove the oil drain bolt from the oil pan on the engine, and let the oil drain into a oil catch pan like in this photo above. CAUTION !  Some drain plugs / bolts on transmissions look just like the oil drain plug / bolt from the engine. Make sure not to remove the oil drain bolt from the transmission.

A lot of do it yourself auto repair mechanics get so anxious to dive into the repair that they forget this most valuable first step.

If you are replacing an alternator or starter, and you forget to disconnect the battery. The sparks are going to fly, and this is not the worst part.
