Applying the mascara

* Before applying mascara, consider curling your lashes with a lash curler to open up your eyes. This is helpful to frame the eyes, especially if your lashes are short.
* To curl eyelashes with a lash curler your should start by squeezing in “steps” from the lashline to about 3/4 of the way toward tips.
* To apply mascara, place your finger about mid-lid or on your eyebrow and pull up in order to hold your lid taut.
* Holding the wand horizontally, sweep on mascara from roots to ends. Apply only to lash tips at first. Roll the wand slightly as you move, wiggle the wand slightly from side to side, along the lashes to distribute mascara evenly.
* Allowing lashes to dry between coats thickens the lash while avoiding clumps. Let the mascara dry for a 4-5 minutes. Don’t hurry, relax and wait. This point is where the wet mascara can smudge easily and leave messy marks where you don’t want them. Check your work before you begin the second coat, blinking can cause the wet lash ends to leave tiny mascara marks on your lids. Clean with a Q-tip or disposable applicator as you go, as needed.
* Once the first application has dried, apply a second. For thicker lashes, carefully apply mascara to the upper side of the lashes as well. Wait and let it dry before you continue.

EYES SHAPE SECRETS

* If you have small eyes never apply liner to the inner rims; put it above or below the lash line.
* Flesh coloured eyes shadows, brushed on to your brown bone will open your eyes. When using colors stick to sweeping one shade over the eye rather than several.
* If you eyes are very round, apply a natural (not black) kohl pencil around the whole eye; if they are very narrow or almond-shaped, open with the brown shaped trick and/ or pencil the outer corner.
* Plucking your eyes brows will make the whole eyes area seem larger. Do not go mad as thin eyes brows look awful, but just clean up the area beneath the arch by plucking out hairs that are not part of the main brow the difference will be startling.

Make Bigger Eyes with the right Eye Shadow. Adding light colored eye shadow to your eye lids will make your eyes appear bigger. For subtle light and sparkle choose a cream eye shadow. Select an eyeshadow color that suits your skin tone, and one that doesn’t contrast too sharply. Younger women can get away with the more extreme colors, but not if you’re older. Older women should choose matte finish eye shadows, not the sparkles. Sparkly eye shadows tend to accentuate eyelid wrinkles.

Stroke lighter eyeshadow on your eyelids and a darker eyeshadow across the crease above your eyelids, blending well. Extend eyeshadow in the crease outwards at the sides of your eyes blending beyond your eyes slightly. 1- Set the base for your eye makeup by applying a sheer facial primer or concealer to the eyelid area to create a clean canvas. Next, choose an eye pencil or eyeliner that is easy to handle and goes smoothly onto the eye area. Try to play with colors by using deep black or brown for nighttime looks, smoky grey or plum for a softer feel, or beige or blue for daytime appeal.

2- Apply the darkest shade of eyeshadow on the outer corner of your eyelid, staying below the crease, about one-third of the way across to form a small triangle. Do the same starting at the inner corner of your eye. You should have a bare stripe down the center of your eyelid between the two triangles. Repeat on the opposite eye.

3- Take the gently sharpened eyeliner and carefully trace the inside rim of your upper eyelashes (being careful of the eye area). After tracing the underside of your upper eyelashes, carefully dot the eyeliner between eyelashes and create a line on top of the outermost half of your eyelid only. Your goal is to blend a line directly into your eyelashes and not a thick line on your eyelid (which will make eyes appear smaller).

4- Apply the medium shade of eyeshadow in the bare stripe, from just above the crease all the way down to the lash line. The medium shade should be at least two shades lighter than the dark shade. Repeat on the opposite eye.

5- After tracing your upper lashes, carefully take the eyeliner and trace inside your lower lash line and connect at the inner corners of your eye. Typical eyeliner regimens recommend tracing around the eye perimeter, but lining inside of the eye actually makes their shape stand out more.

6- Apply the highlighting eyeshadow along the brow bone, beginning just behind the “head” or thick part of the eyebrow. Repeat on the opposite eye.

7- After applying eyeliner, choose two forms of mascara to create the appearance of huge eyes, such as a lengthening formula and a thickening formula. Only apply mascara to your top eyelashes, which will open up the entire eye area. Gently wiggle the lengthening brand deep into the roots of your eyelashes and stroke upwards. Reapply multiple coats brushing from root to tip of lashes, until they are evenly coated and appear longer.

8- Blend the edge of the highlighting eyeshadow with your ring finger so there is no marked line. Then, still using your ring finger, gently blend the edges of the dark eyeshadow and the medium eyeshadow where they meet. Be careful not to remove too much eyeshadow; the idea is simply to erase any lines between the colors. Repeat on the opposite eye.

9- Avoid clumps by wiping any accesses mascara off from the thickening formula, and gently apply from root-to-tip directly after the first brand. However, make sure to only apply mascara to the outer corner of your top eyelashes, until the outer eyelashes appear longer and create a widening or cat-like effect.

10- Pull the skin on your eyelid just above the center of your eyebrow taught with your ring finger. Carefully apply a thin line of liquid eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible. Repeat on the opposite eye.

11- Place the curler against your eye, with the lashes between the clamps. Gently close the curler, being careful that no skin gets pinched in the clamps. After the curler is closed, apply more pressure and hold for five seconds. Release and repeat on the opposite eye.

12- Twirl–don’t pump–the mascara wand inside the tube to fill it with mascara. Hold the mascara wand to your eye and gently close your eyelashes over the wand, raking them through the wand’s brush several times to apply the mascara. Gently run the brush across your lower lashes. Add a second coat of mascara for a more dramatic impact.
